Gianni Versace hit the market in the late 70s and really gave the brand a place in popular culture. His use of signature prints and bold colouring really gave them the leg they needed to be a worldly recognised, iconic fashion house.
Do you dare to bare? I never know what to wear on the beach, like, what’s acceptable and what isn’t? I’d love to be some hunky Mediterranean gentleman who can pull off the trunks and small pants… But unfortunately I’m a bit too out of shape to be in the sort of shape that warrants the wearing on next to nothing.
However, I’m really hitting the gym at the moment in the hope I will be ready for some winter sun (as opposed to my city foodie break in Amsterdam) and that I will be able to pull off some of the iconic brand’s short shorts or even beach trunks.
TK Maxx gold label has had an influx of Versace beachwear at obviously affordable prices, with up to and over 75% off the collection. Here are my top four picks from what’s on site at the minute:
These sleek navy trunks allow for a nice lightweight and breathable design. A bit more coverage than the brief style trunks but will still allow you to get a nice tan and perfect those pool dives without having baggy board shorts stuck to your leg.
3. Versace Beachwear – Black Fret Trunk Shorts
Similar to the pair above, these black trunk with a classic Versace fret pattern really show off the brands luxury, and will make you a hit with the ladies at the pool, or even better the beach bar.
2. Versace Beachwear – Medusa Black and White Trunks
For those who really dare to bare, these statement black and white medusa print brief swimming trunks are the one you need in your life.
1. Versace Beachwear – Cobalt Blue Beach Shorts
These are the ones for me, nice short in a cobalt blue, not too revealing and can be paired nicely with a lightweight vest for when walking from your hotel to the bar or from the beach back to the hotel. They have the classic white fret pattern on an elasticated waistband so expect the ultimate comfort.
As always with TK Maxx, they will sell out quickly so make sure they are added to your basket and in your suitcase ready for you to take on the next beach break. Failing that, I wrote an article on shorts last year.
